01

Overview

A concept that converts a famously chaotic social presence into measurable retention.

Type: Concept campaign. Industry: Apps / Education. Year: 2026.

02

The challenge

An app with elite brand-level attention still faces the same quiet problem as every app: the streak breaks, the habit dies, and reacquisition costs more than retention would have. Entertainment reach and product retention are usually run by different teams with different scoreboards.

03

The insight

A streak isn't a number — it's a narrative with stakes. People don't grieve a lost counter, they grieve a story about who they were becoming. Social content that dramatises the stakes can do retention work, not just reach work.

04

The idea

THE STREAK IS A STORY — serialised social content about streaks in jeopardy, with the product's own notifications as characters. The same narrative beats are wired into lifecycle messaging, so the joke on TikTok and the push notification at 9pm belong to one script.

05

Creative direction

Fast, absurd, shot-on-phone, with a hard rule: every piece contains one true product moment. Recurring bits, recurring cast, escalating stakes. Sound design as the signature.

06

Campaign execution

A weekly writers' room feeds both social and lifecycle copy. AI-assisted variant generation localises jokes across markets with native reviewers. In-app moments reference the series so the loop closes inside the product.

07

Distribution

Organic-led on TikTok and Reels, creator collabs for new audience surfaces, push and email as the narrative's second act, in-app as the payoff.

08

Testing

Narrative arcs vs standalone gags on day-7 return. Notification copy drawn from winning social lines vs control. Reactivation offers framed as 'resume the story' vs discount.

Running…

The system isolates winning combinations, promotes them into scaling, and retires the rest on a documented kill rule.

09

Measurement

Day-1 / day-7 / day-30 retention as the real scoreboard, alongside reactivation rate, cost per reactivated user and organic install share.

Results

This is a concept project. No performance results exist, and we will not invent any. What follows describes the intended shape of the work and the metrics we would hold it to.

Day-1 / day-7 / day-30 retention as the real scoreboard, alongside reactivation rate, cost per reactivated user and organic install share.

Learnings

When entertainment and lifecycle share one narrative, reach stops being a vanity number. The cheapest retention campaign is usually the content team you already have, pointed at a product metric.
